September 21, 2007 <br /> Page 2 <br /> (5) The task force must report its findings and recommendations to the Council at an <br /> official meeting. <br /> (6) Deliberation and decision-making by the full Council on the matter assigned to the <br /> task force cannot occur at the same meeting that the task force presents its findings and <br /> recommendations. It must occur at a subsequent meeting. <br /> If the above procedures are complied with, the task force can meet and discuss the <br /> issue(s) assigned to it without following the notice and comment requirements of the Sunshine <br /> Law. However, the information cannot be shazed with the other members of the Council before <br /> a duly noticed Council meeting is held and Council members other than those on the task force <br /> cannot attend any of the task force meetings. <br /> Options for Assigned Tasks <br /> (1) Scope of duties, e.g., tracking bills and reporting back to the Council; lobbying on <br /> behalf of the Council.
