CURRENT TITLE PAY GRADE <br /> <br /> COMMENTS <br /> <br /> With the sunset of Act 90 on June 30, 2007 and to comply with settlement of UPW vs. COH, <br /> 98-244, the Department of Public Works must cancel contracts for janitorial and <br /> groundskeeping services by December 31, 2007. To replace these contractual services, we <br /> requested for and received 12 Custodian/ Groundskeeper I positions to clean and maintain <br /> our offices and grounds island-wide. Various departments have requested for our assistance <br /> to clean their offices, including sites in Ka'u and Pahoa. <br /> Since the approval of our initial request in October, we have temporarily filled the General <br /> Services Superintendent who has reviewed the island-wide custodial and groundskeeping <br /> services requirements. Due to the extensive travel time between S. Hilo and Ka'u, it has been <br /> determined that there should be a part-time position stationed in Ka'u to service sites in <br /> Pahala, Naalehu, Hawaiian Ocean View Estates and Pahoa. <br /> <br /> We are therefore requesting for a part-time, 60% FTE (24 hours/week) position. <br /> <br /> <br /> DATE DEPARTMENT HEAD <br /> <br /> <br /> [ISAPPROVED ?
