DUTIES OF THE POSITION <br /> List each duty assigned to the position separately. If more space is <br /> needed use a blank sheet and attach to this form. <br /> Under general supervision, assists civil engineer in studies, plans, designs, and reviews of traffic related improvement <br /> plans. (1, 2, 3) 60 <br /> 1. Gathers field data such as intersection geometrics, accident, registration, parking etc., for analysis and design <br /> of appropriate improvements with the boundaries established by the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices <br /> (MUTCD), NEMA, and the Hawai'I County Code. <br /> 2. Participates in the acquisition of vehicular and pedestrian data, using manual and digital traffic counting <br /> recorders <br /> 3. Participates in compiling and preparing accident reports <br /> 4. Reviews plans, proposals, shop drawings, specifications traffic related improvement projects. <br /> 5. Performs warrant analysis for signals, stop signs, and other related traffic control improvements. <br /> 6. Performs traffic calming investigations to determine installations for driver feed back radar signs (smart signs), <br /> speed humps, and other related devices. <br /> 7. Participates in traffic signs and markings inspections and investigations. <br /> 8. Participates in field data collection and cost estimates related to the traffic signs and marking maintenance <br /> program and the pavement resurfacing program. 35 <br /> Under general supervision, using CAD-CAM equipment and/or standard drafting instruments, independently performs <br /> specialty technical drafting for traffic projects: (1, 2 , 3) <br /> 1. Speed hump designs and layouts <br /> 2. General plans including the use of Traffic control devices such as signs, markings, etc. <br /> 3. Standard details for traffic signals, street lights, traffic signs and traffic markings. <br /> 4. Graphs, tables, and charts for data analysis <br /> 5. Lays out templates for complex traffic signs. <br /> 6. Maintain maps depicting traffic control devices <br /> Other related duties as required 5 <br /> 4.
