Murakami <br /> Tax Map Key: (3) 2-4-10: 31 <br /> <br /> Dear Ms. Chinen: <br /> <br /> The applicants will be submitting a request to rezone approximately 22,140 square feet of land <br /> from a Single Family Residential fifteen thousand square feet (RS-15) to a Single Family <br /> Residential ten thousand square feet (RS-10) zoned district on tax map key no. (3) 24-10: 31. <br /> The property is situated on the west side of Kehaulaui Street approximately 420 feet north of the <br /> Kawailani Street - Kebaulani Street intersection, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii. The applicants <br /> intend to subdivide the existing 22,140 square foot parcel into two lots consisting of 12,021 <br /> square feet (proposed parcel 6-A) and 10,119 square feet (proposed lot 6-11). The existing single <br /> family dwelling will remain on proposed parcel 6-B and a new single family dwelling will be <br /> built on proposed lot 6-A. (See attached preliminary subdivision and location map) <br /> <br /> The subject properly has been extensively altered by heavy machinery when it was cleared and <br /> graded for the construction of a single family dwelling which was constructed in 1951. The <br /> property has been utilized for residential and related uses for approximately 56 years. In addition <br /> to the dwelling and garage, the property has been improved with a paved driveway, grassed lawn <br /> and planted with fruit trees and ornamental foliage. (See attached photos of the property) <br /> <br /> The subject property is not associated with nor valued by native Hawaiian people or any other <br /> ethnic group for carrying out traditional practices and beliefs. The subject property has not been <br /> utilized for any other purpose than a single family residence for approximately 56 years.
