CONFORMANCE WITH STATE AND COUNTY PLANS <br />2. State Land Use Designations: 4.023 acres are in the urban district and 1.19 <br />acres are in the agricultural district. This application is requesting a boundary <br />amendment for the portion of the property in the agricultural district to the <br />urban district. Concurrent with this request is a change of zone application for <br />the entire 5.213 acres and a Use Permit Application. Those applications are <br />included in this application booklet. <br />3. The applications for this boundary amendment is consistent with goals, policies <br />and standards of the Economic Element of the General Plan that states: <br />Provide residents with opportunities to improve their quality of life. <br />The County of Hawaii shall strive for diversity and stability in its economic <br />system. <br />The County shall provide an economic environment which allows new, expanded <br />or improved economic opportunities that are compatible with the Courty's <br />natural and social environment. <br />The County of Hawaii shall strive for an economic climate which provides its <br />residents an opportunityfor choice of occupation. <br />The County of Hawaii shall strive for diversification of its economy by <br />strengthening existing industries and attracting new endeavors. <br />The County of Hawaii shall encourage the continuing development of the <br />retirement industry. <br />The application for this change of zone is consistent with goals, policies and <br />standards of the Housing Element of the General Plan that states: <br />
