APPROVED. This measure is approved as a voluntary measure <br />only. <br />3. Displace Runway 8 landing threshold. This measure - <br />displaces the landing threshold on runway 8 by 1,600 feet <br />reducing approach noise impacts. Volume II, page 5-10. <br />APPROVED. It is noted that use of the displaced threshold <br />for departures is strictly a voluntary procedure and the <br />full length of the runway is available upon request by the <br />pilot -in -command. <br />B. NOISE MITIGATION MEASURES: <br />1. Sound attenuation barrier. This measure would study <br />the configuration, appearance, and sound attenuation <br />characteristics of a barrier between the airport and the <br />Keaukaha Tract I Subdivision. Volume II, page 5-10. <br />APPROVED. This approval is limited to the preparation of / <br />the study only. <br />2. Study a possible land exchange with Hawaiian Home Lands <br />to locate suitable State or private lands which could be <br />exchanged for Keaukaha Tract 2 lands within the forecast DNL <br />60 noise contour. Methods by which existing or future <br />leases on Hawaiian Home Lands may remain intact for <br />agricultural use, but with homes situated in residential <br />subdivisions rather than on agricultural lots, should also <br />be developed. Volume II, page 5-10. <br />APPROVED. This approval is limited to the preparation of <br />the planning study only. The FAA strongly encourages early <br />implementation of this measure since, if effective, it will <br />prevent development of new non -compatible uses within the <br />noise impact area. <br />3. Provide sound attenuation for impacted residences and <br />public use structures.
