States <br /> establishing this appropriation will enable the County <br /> to address solid waste issues when a judgment or <br /> resolution is determined on the West Hawaii landfill <br /> decision. The remaining Capital Project Fund fund <br /> balance is proposed to be utilized as part of the total <br /> funding package. An appropriation of $981,760 is <br /> available in the Capital Project Fund fund balance. <br /> <br /> Comm. 273: SALARY ORDINANCE FOR FY '97-'98 <br /> (Bill 78) From Finance Director Harry A. Takahashi, dated <br /> April 21, 1997, transmitting the above bill. States <br /> the bill proposes a salary range for appointive <br /> executive and administrative positions. Further states <br /> that although pay grades for deputies of the Office of <br /> the Corporation Counsel and the Prosecuting Attorney <br /> have been included, a proposal to amend the salary <br /> schedule for deputies is currently before the Council. <br /> Comm. 200.02: ORDINANCE BILL RELATING TO SALARY GRADES FOR DEPUTIES <br /> (Bill 83) IN THE OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION COUNSEL AND THE OFFICE <br /> OF THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY <br /> From Prosecuting Attorney Jay T. Kimura and Corporation <br /> Counsel Richard D. Wurdeman, dated April 17, 1997, <br /> transmitting the above bill. This proposal provides <br /> the respective department heads with the flexibility to <br /> reward meritorious performances, without having to <br /> increase salaries across the board; additionally, <br /> eliminates differentiation between deputies, based on <br /> department, and places them all on equal footing. <br /> <br />
