BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />It is approaching 5 years since the EDH 2025 Plan was initially adopted in November 2005. To remain a dynamic <br />Living Action Plan, it requires that the EDH 2025 Plan be updated to incorporate emerging and critical strategies <br />and actions that are relevant to the needs of today's community. <br />The Downtown Hilo Commercial (CDH) Zoned District will be amended to incorporate priority components of <br />the updated Action Plan, including design-related strategies and actions that are critical to guide future <br />development. In this initial amendment process, we will incorporate the components that will assist developers <br />and planners in to determining how the proposed development or renovation can be produced in keeping with <br />the community Vision. The components will include design strategies such as: vision, focus area, uses, height, <br />siting, set back, parking, etc. Also, a preliminary Vision Base Map will be prepared to incorporate priority <br />components from the Action Plan and the CDH district code updates. <br />SIGNED: ~~ ~GLTl~~~ DATE: 6 6c <br />B Leithead-Todd, Department Head <br />
