BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> <br /> The County of Hawaii has been awarded grant funds from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance <br /> Grant Recovery Act program to implement a Courthouse Booking project which will provide post-conviction, <br /> same-day penal summons booking at the Hilo and Kona court houses. The project will streamline the post- <br /> conviction booking process and will ensure that the information is entered into the statewide offender based <br /> tracking system.
