Form #: B -52
7/18/91
DEPARTMENT: Environmental Manaqement -Solid Waste DATE: 3/1/2010
STAFF CONTACT: Mike Dworsky PHONE: 981 -8515
A. REQUEST:
DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi -year lease agreement for two (2) hook roll on /off trucks
and six (6) roll on /off bins for a period of five (5) years for the Department of Environmental Management,
Solid Waste Division.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Solid Waste Division is requesting to lease finance the purchase of two (2) hook roll on /off trucks and six
(6) roll on /off bins. These trucks with roll on /off bins will be used to receive and haul refuse from the Milolii
transfer station. This equipment will allow the Solid Waste Division to take over this service which is
currently being contracted out. A settlement agreement with UPW requires that the County take over this
service no later than August 1, 2011. Due to the size of the Milolii transfer station and the steep, narrow, and
winding road, the equipment used for other transfer stations is not suitable for this location.
This equipment will be lease financed such that the County will own the equipment at the end of the five year
lease.
SIGNED:
Departme/t H 4 d
DATE: 3 / V12,010
