DATE: March 16, 2010 <br />PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br />78 -128 Ehukai Street <br />Kailua -Kona, Hawai`i <br />TIME: 2:10 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawai`i County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 311 -10, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 311 -10, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication <br />No. 738, dated March 3, 2010, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more <br />than one fiscal year for multi -year leases for two (2) copy machines. <br />The Office of Housing and Community Development wishes to enter into two five -year lease <br />contracts for copy machines for two of their Hilo locations. The current leases will be expiring <br />soon, and both machines have exceeded their recommended usage and are constantly being <br />repaired. By leasing the two copiers, they anticipate an annual cost savings of $5,000. <br />Pursuant to Section 10 -11, Hawai`i County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation <br />requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by <br />resolution. <br />There was no discussion on this matter. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 311 -10, <br />and recommends its adoption. <br />kk <br />REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />Re: Comm.
