No. 759 /Bill No. 231 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 231 reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 231, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 759, <br />dated March 11, 2010, adopts a pay plan for persons employed by the County other than those <br />whose pay is otherwise provided for, designating payroll periods, pay days, prescribing <br />requirements with respect to official fidelity bonds, and repealing Ordinance No. 09 -72 and all <br />amendments thereto, said ordinance to be known as the Salary Ordinance of 2010. <br />• The Special Assistant class of work was added to the list of classes in the Office of the <br />County Council <br />• The Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Clerk class of work was retitled by deleting <br />Deputy from its title. The position serves both the County Clerk and the Deputy County <br />Clerk. <br />• To be consistent, the Council Aide to the Council Chairperson and the Council Aide to <br />the Chair were retitled to Council Aide to the Chairperson in both sections. <br />• The Elections Clerk I class of work was retitled to Temporary Election Clerk to be <br />consistent with HRS §76 -77(9) Civil Service and exemptions that refers to temporary <br />election clerks employed in the Office of the County Clerk during election periods. <br />• The last sentence" excepting the bond of the treasurer which shall be in the custody of the <br />mayor." was deleted from the Official fidelity bonds section. Provisions of Section 2 -2 <br />of the Hawai`i County Code requires that all bonds shall be in the custody of the Director <br />of Finance. <br />Council Chair Yoshimoto moved to amend Bill No. 231 with the contents of Communication <br />No. 759.1. <br />Deputy County Clerk Rodney Oshiro explained that it is primarily a housekeeping measure, <br />moving the Legislative Auditor into its own division and that no salaries are affected. <br />FC Rept.
