Sako <br />Deputy Drrector <br />crt <br />RN) <br />The Hawai'i Fire Department has been awarded a $303,738 grant from the U.S. Department <br />of Homeland Security's FY 2009 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. This <br />grant will be used to purchase turn -out coats and pants for the fire personnel. <br />Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the <br />Department of Homeland Security for this grant. <br />Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the <br />$303,738 grant. <br />Since the funds need to be appropriated by the end of this fiscal year, we are requesting a <br />waiver from the Finance Committee and to have this resolution and bill heard at the <br />Council meeting scheduled for June 7, 2010. <br />If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Hawai'i Fire Department. <br />Comm.
