It combines pre- scheduled business <br /> appointments, site inspections of meeting venues, educational sessions, and networking <br /> opportunities. Now in its second consecutive year on the Island of Hawai'i and held <br /> September 9 -12, 2009, this was the 12` year this important event for Hawai'i's meetings <br /> industry was held. <br /> - HIVB sponsored Mayor Kenoi's welcome reception for the participants along with the <br /> Waikoloa Beach Resort on September 9, 2009 at Waikoloa Bowl in the Queens' <br /> Marketplace. Held from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., the event was designed to be short with a big <br /> impact. Attendees were greeted by keiki with lei, treated to entertainment by Johnny <br /> Shot and keiki hula. <br /> Cuisines were showcased via food booths and PRIME attendees were able to <br /> enjoy a "Taste of Waikoloa" through restaurant vendors: Roy's Restaurant <br /> Waikoloa, Sansei Seafood Restaurant, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Buzz's Sand Trap, <br /> Charley's Tai Cuisine and Kirin Restaurant. <br /> - Together with the Hilton Waikoloa Village, HIVB sponsored the closing night <br /> reception on September 11, 2009 with "A Taste of Hilton Waikoloa Village" held at the <br /> Lagoon Lanai and entertainment ended at the Water's Edge Ballroom. <br /> PRIME 2009 has already produced the following results: <br /> 6 properties reported: 34 leads @ 17,479 room nights (31% of planners resulted in leads) <br /> Attendance: Planners - Domestic -84 <br /> International - Korean Meeting Planners -10 <br /> Chinese Meeting Planners- 6 <br /> Japanese Meeting Planners -10 <br /> Total Suppliers /Guests: 150 <br /> Total PRIME Attendees: 260 <br /> Island partners contributed $11,874 of in -kind services for the HIVB PRIME sponsored <br /> functions alone. <br /> 7 <br />
