The Office of Aging is supporting
efforts of the Hawai'i Fire Department to continue their Project Lifesaver Program, that
began in 2007. Project Lifesaver is a national program that allows older individuals,
affected by dementia and at risk for wandering, to remain in their homes rather than being
institutionalized. Funds will be used to purchase a global positioning system (GPS) that
tracks the individual wearing the band in case they have wandered off.
Comm, No. 1 0 1
Ref. To: VC/
Ref.
