The property is not among those listed as historic in the Hawaii State Register of Historic Places and has not been determined to be eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. As the project site is improved with a single- family dwelling and used for pastoral purposes, no professional flora or fauna study was conducted of the site. Due to the developed state of the project site, the applicants believe that there are no known rare or endangered flora or fauna on the site. The project site and immediately surrounding area has not been identified as a significant botanical or biological habitat. Based on the above findings, the approval of the Change of Zone request from an Agricultural (A -3a) to a Single Family Residential (RS -40) zoned district would result in an appropriate land use pattern that will further benefit the public. For your favorable consideration, an amendment to Section 25 -8 -33 (City of Hilo Zone Map) of Chapter 25, Zoning Code, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition) is provided for your favorable consideration is transmitted.
