REQUEST: <br /> The Hawai'i State Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) has donated 140 Coleman Oasis tents <br /> to Hawai'i County to the Hawai'i Fire Department, Department of Public Works, and the Department of Parks <br /> and Recreation. The primary purpose of the tents is to provide logistical support during emergencies. Civil <br /> Defense is coordinating with Safety Division of the Department of Human Resources for distribution. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The tents were originally excess Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) inventory donated to <br /> VOAD for distribution to member agencies.The intent of the tents are to provide logistical support during <br /> emergencies, but does not preclude their use when there is a public benefit.
