Project Number 11 -CD -01 <br />C O N T R A C T <br />THIS CONTRACT, executed on the respective dates <br />indicated below, is effective as of October 1, 2011, by and <br />between the Department of the Attorney General, State of Hawaii, <br />hereinafter called "Agency ", by and through the Attorney General, <br />and Hawaii Police Department, hereinafter called "Grantee ". <br />WITNESSETH <br />WHEREAS, Public Law 106 -561, the Paul Coverdell National <br />Forensic Sciences Improvement Act, as amended, authorizes funding <br />to improve the quality, timeliness, and credibility of forensic <br />science services for criminal justice purposes; <br />WHEREAS, award amounts are pre- determined according to <br />the allocation criteria set forth in 42 U.S.C. §37971, section 2803 <br />(a) ; <br />WHEREAS, the Department of the Attorney General, as the <br />designated State Administrating Agency, applied for and was <br />awarded funds under the Act; <br />1 (7/2010) <br />
