I. PROBABILITY TO IMPROVE THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
This project closes gaps identified in the current information flow within the OPA as well
as between the OPA and HPD, and also resolves a considerable issue regarding non - arrest based
cases which will become critical when JIMS begins eFiling of criminal cases in the summer of
2012. The project addresses factors identified in the FY 2010 -2014 JAG Multi -Year Statewide
Strategy of significant volume of data being entered multiple times into multiple systems within
and between agencies, delays and backlogs, barriers to information sharing, duplication of
efforts, and incomplete or non - existent access to data. The successful implementation of this
project will prove the concept that with adequate funding integrated justice information sharing
improves efficiency of criminal case processing throughout the criminal justice system. This
project will also demonstrate that government agencies have a role in a "Green Economy," and
can improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact at the same time.
