The subject property is <br />located on the east side of Kino`ole Street, approximately 400 feet north of West Ohea Street, <br />Waiakea Homestead Houselots, South Hilo, Hawai`i. <br />The Commission concurs with the following Planning Director's reasons for recommending <br />favorable consideration of the request: <br />The applicants are requesting a Change of Zone from Single- Family Residential — <br />10,000 square feet (RS -10) to Multiple - Family Residential — 3,000 square feet (RM -3) for <br />42,660 square feet of land in order to allow the construction of a fourteen (14) -unit <br />apartment complex to provide housing for students attending the University of Hawai`i at <br />Hilo.
