AGING <br /> AGING <br /> Non-Contracted Services <br /> 1. Aging and Disability Resource Center Development Project <br /> Provide older adults and caregivers information and assistance services. <br /> a. Provide quarterly activities marketing Aging and Disability Resource Center <br /> services using community presentations and resource fairs, and other media. <br /> Aging and Disability Resource Center educational display, informational <br /> brochures and informal discussions were provided at the Puna Covenant <br /> Church bazaar and the First Hawaiian Bank Prime Time Fair. Aging and <br /> Disability Resource Center presentations for community groups included <br /> Hilo Medical Center new nursing staff, Hawaii Community College Aging <br /> class, University of Hawaii Family Community Education group, Project <br /> Dana Eden at Home trainees, and a senior church group. Monthly Aging and <br /> Disability Resource Center articles were submitted for the Silver Bulletin <br /> newsletter highlighting ADRC activities and services. An article on Aging <br /> and Disability Resource Center services was submitted for a local Hamakua <br /> area periodical on suggestion by the Hamakua Partnerships in Eldercare <br /> group. <br /> b. Collaborate with tenant agencies and community partners to provide quarterly in- <br /> service trainings for Aging and Disability Resource Center tenant staff <br /> Monthly Interdisciplinary Team meetings at the Aging and Disability <br /> Resource Center provided presentations by team service providers. Monthly <br /> Sage PLUS training for volunteers on Medicare and Social Security is <br /> available at the Aging and Disability Resource Center. Alzheimer's <br /> Association presentations on dementia, care giving, adapting, legal and other <br /> issues are available for tenants at after hours sessions. Dr. Rita Belle <br /> Fernandez was sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association for an Aging and <br /> Disability Resource Center presentation on "Update on Dementia". Aging <br /> and Disability Resource Center tenants were invited to an Alliance of <br /> Information and Referrals Systems webinar on Disaster Preparedness. Fire <br /> preparedness and fire extinguisher use training was provided by the Hawaii <br /> Fire Department. <br /> c. Provide Hawai`i County Office of Aging and Coordinated Services for the <br /> Elderly staff and access to training for Alliance of Information and Referral <br /> Systems certification. One hundred percent of Hawai`i County Office of Aging's <br /> Aging and Disability Resource Center staff, and 50% of Coordinated Services for <br /> the Elderly Aging and Disability Resource Center based Information and <br /> Assistance staff will be Alliance of Information and Referral Systems certified. <br /> Final Status Report on Program Objectives for FY 2010-11 1 <br />
