Akina Jr. (4-year term): Mr. Akina is a retired resident of Hawai'i. He worked in the <br /> travel industry for more than 20 years, was a volunteer fireman, a community activist for <br /> disabled and elderly citizens, and is an honorable discharged member of the Hawai'i <br /> National Guard. Mr. Akina states that he is a Democrat. If confirmed he will serve a term to <br /> end on December 31, 2016. <br /> • Paul Bleck (2-year term): Mr. Bleck is a 24-year resident of Hawai'i and a former member of <br /> this commission. He is a self-employed architect living within the Kailua Village Special <br /> District with construction management experience.
