The request was consistent with the 1986 North Kohala <br /> Community Development Plan, which encouraged the use of smaller scaled agricultural <br /> lots and encouraged more intensive use of North Kohala's agricultural resources through <br /> the subdivision of selected agricultural lands into smaller and more manageable parcels. <br /> Lastly, the requested zoning complemented the existing zoning designation of the area, <br /> which was mainly A-3a. <br /> Since the approval of the most recent time extension, the North Kohala <br /> Community Development Plan has been adopted.
