E., Director <br /> Department of Public Works <br /> County of Hawaii. <br /> Dear Mr. Lee: <br /> SUBJECT: Kailua Village Design Commission Meeting of October 9, 2012 <br /> Applicant: Hawaiian Sign and Design for Starbucks Coffee <br /> Land Owner: RELO KONA, LLC <br /> Design Review of a proposed Sign Variance Application and Sign Permit <br /> Tax Map Key: 7-5-004:031 (COR-12-081154) <br /> This letter is to inform you that the Kailua Village Design Commission, at its October 9, 2012 <br /> meeting, voted to recommend to the Public Works Director and the Hawai`i County Council the <br /> approval of the above-referenced sign permit and sign variance applications as submitted. <br /> In making its favorable recommendation for the requested sign variance, the Commission took <br /> into consideration the fact that the applicant has proposed to omit all lettering from its signage <br /> facing both Kuakini Highway (southbound) and Henry Street through use of its corporate logo <br /> only.
