Ford, dated September 4, 2013. The bill redefines <br />the responsibility of the Public Works Director; eliminates the monthly rental charge <br />paid by County employees and officials for parking stalls at Hawaii County buildings; <br />establishes priorities for assigning reserved parking spaces; and eliminates any shifting <br />of reserved parking privileges. <br />Comm. 433: AUTHORIZES THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />(Res. 175 -13) AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY <br />AND THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY, PURSUANT <br />TO HRS 46 -7, FOR THE FY 2012 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS - FIRE <br />PREVENTION AND SAFETY GRANT TO THE HAWAII FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT_ and <br />(Bill 13 1) AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 13 -65, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING <br />BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING <br />JUNE 30, 2014 <br />From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated September 13, 2013. The resolution <br />authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement to accept the grant; and the bill <br />appropriates revenues of $19,400 in the Federal Grants - Assistance to Firefighters <br />Grant 2012 - Prevention and Safety account; and appropriates same to the Assistance to <br />Firefighters Grant 2012 - Prevention and Safety account. These funds will be used to <br />purchase 700 to 750 fire detectors to be installed into the homes of elderly residents <br />across Hawaii Island. <br />Comm. 434: AUTHORIZES THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />(Res. 176 -13) AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY <br />(DHS) AND THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA), <br />PURSUANT TO HRS 46 -7, FOR THE FY 2012 ASSISTANCE TO <br />FIREFIGHTERS GRANT TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT; and <br />(Bill 132) AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 13 -65, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING <br />BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING <br />JUNE 30. 2014 <br />From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated September 13, 2013. These funds will be used <br />to hire an instructor to train selected HFD personnel on the topic of escaping an <br />entanglement situation, and to purchase equipment to support such training. <br />
