Kohala Coast Resort nodes. Provides service <br /> improvements and intermodal connectivity. <br /> Addresses public safety. Enhances quality of life. <br /> Will facilitate travel to the eight schools in <br /> Waimea. The facility should be at a minimum <br /> LEED-certified and ADA compliant. Encourages <br /> alternative transportation usage, which is a central <br /> component to reduce traffic congestion in <br /> Waimea. To be located near the Waimea Post <br /> Office or in another central location. <br /> 4. J Yoshimoto Kupulau Street Extension (end of Kupulau St. (3) 2-3 & 2 & 3 $3,600,000 <br /> (District 2) to Puainako St. Extension): Work includes land (3) 2-4 <br /> acquisition, plans and designs. Project will <br /> enhance pedestrian, ADA, bicycle, and traffic <br /> circulation between upper Waiakea and <br /> Downtown Hilo. This will also help to relieve <br /> traffic congestion at the four-way-stop <br /> intersection of Komohana St. and Kawailani St. <br /> This will improve public health, safety, and <br /> quality of life. <br /> 5. Valerie T. Laupahoehoe Point Access Road: Repair the (3) 3-6-002 & 1 $3,500,000 <br /> Poindexter damaged portions of the roadway that connects (3) 3-6-004 <br /> (District 1) Highway 19 to Laupahoehoe Point. Hire a <br /> Geotechnical Engineer that will: 1)provide <br /> recommendations to repair the existing roadway <br /> at locations where the roadway is failing; and 2) <br /> assess the landslide and rockfall hazards and <br /> provide various solutions. Remove rockfall <br /> hazards. <br /> 6. Dru Mamo Nani Kailua Extension: To acquire right-of way (3) 7-5-009:021 7 $3,500,000 <br /> Kanuha and construct approximately 600 feet of a new & 023 <br /> (District 7) 60-foot-wide road to establish a new collector <br /> road between Ali`i Drive in the vicinity of Oneo <br /> Bay to the County owned portion of the Kuakini <br /> Highway. Work will include curbs, gutters, <br /> sidewalks, roadside drainage improvements, <br /> street lights, and necessary intersection <br /> improvements at both Ali`i Drive and Kuakini <br /> Highway. <br /> 2 <br />
