REQUEST. <br /> Amend Ordinance_2--8 of the Capital Budget by adding an Appropriation to complete the following project: <br /> Liquor Control Hazardous Material Mitigation & Improvements (Private) $1,803,000 <br /> B BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> Upon learning that asbestos, mold and mildew existed within the Dept of Liquor Control's office space, plans <br /> to remove these hazardous materials were put in place in order to provide our employees and public guests <br /> a safe and healthy work and meeting environment. Additionally, we were informed that our conference room <br /> was not ADA compliant and that renovations would include bringing this room up to code. <br /> During the course of the renovation, the Dept. of Liquor Control acquired additional unimproved space from <br /> the Hilo Lagoon Centre for a new and expanded conference room.
