REQUEST: <br /> On November 1, 2012, the County of Hawai'i entered into a 5-year Housing Assistance Payment Contract <br /> (Agreement) with UHC 00525 Hilo LP owners of E Komo Mai, selected for the Section 8 Project-Based <br /> Voucher Program (PBV Program) as offered through a Public Notice dated February 12, 19, and 26, 2012. <br /> The 5-year contract is ending on October 31, 2017. The Partnership has submitted a written request for a <br /> new 5-year Agreeement to provide rental assistance for up to 11 eligible participants. The new Agreement <br /> would be effective Novemer 1, 2017. <br /> The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) requests Finance Committee and County <br /> Council actions authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year Agreement with UHC 00525 Hilo LP owners <br /> of E Komo Mai. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The purpose of the PBV Program is to encourage property owners to make available rental housing units to <br /> low-income families that are not within the current housing fair market rents.
