Waltjen as Director of Parks & Recreation It is my pleasure to submit for your confirmation the appointment of Roxcie L. Waltjen as Director of Parks and Recreation for the County of Hawai'i, pursuant to Article VI, Section 6-3.2 of the Hawai'i County Charter. Her appointment will be effective September 25, 2017. Ms. Waltjen has been with the County's Department of Parks and Recreation for the past 29 years. She has previously served as the Department's Culture & Education Administrator. Ms. Waltjen received her bachelor's degree from the University of Hawai'i at Hilo and since that time has served in various non-profit and governmental 11 agencies prior to her tenure with the County of Hawai'i. Her resume is attached for your information. Ms. Waltjen will serve a term co-terminus with my tenure, which will end on December 7, 2020.
