I do appreciate it very much. <br />7 <br />What do you think about this? Because of <br />8 <br />collective bargaining in the State, we have this <br />9 <br />constant push from below raising wages, basically, and <br />10 <br />benefits. So right now, on our docket, we're <br />11 <br />considering, say, a 3 percent pay raise for you and <br />12 <br />your cabinet; and it seems like it's almost a rubber <br />13 <br />stamp, that we have to do that because we got into an <br />14 <br />inversion problem. And, two years ago, that was one of <br />15 <br />the big things we had to deal with is that there were <br />16 <br />subordinates that were making more than their bosses. <br />17 <br />Can't live with that. Nobody would agree with that. <br />18 <br />So, we're kind of in that position. <br />19 <br />So, my second question, besides affordability, <br />20 <br />to you, is do we really need a Salary Commission? <br />21 <br />There's eight of us that are dealing with 40 of you, <br />22 <br />and there are 200,000 other people that live on the <br />23 <br />island. So, I'm beginning to think that I'm kind of <br />24 <br />wasting my time.
