5.7.2. Termination shall be effective only on the last day of each <br /> month. A termination request submitted after the due date shall <br /> forfeit any refund that may be due, except for clerical error, <br /> computer error or conditions beyond the control of the permittee. <br /> 5.7.3. All parking cards and permits must be turned in by the original <br /> permittee. The termination form must be submitted in advance, <br /> but the permit may be turned in on the last day of the month. A <br /> vehicle found parked with a cancelled and/or invalid parking <br /> permit card or permit shall be cited and/or towed away at the <br /> owner's expense. <br /> 6. GENERAL RULES <br /> 6.1. All official signs and pavement markings shall be observed. All signs <br /> and pavement markings posted on county lands designated to be under <br /> the jurisdiction of the county shall be official signs. <br /> 6.2. Parking shall be permitted only in areas marked and specified for <br /> parking. Every permittee shall display a valid parking decal, permit, or <br /> placard while occupying a stall in any parking area as regulated under <br /> these rules. <br /> 6.3. No permittee shall sublet, subrent, transfer or assign a parking stall, <br /> assignment or permit to any person without the consent of the Director of <br /> Public Works. <br /> 6.4. A parking decal, permit or placard issued to a permittee shall be valid <br /> only in the designated lot or area. <br /> 6.5. The county shall not be responsible or liable for fire, theft, or damage to <br /> motor vehicles or contents therein when the motor vehicles are parked or <br /> operated in the parking facilities under the county's jurisdiction. <br /> 6.6. Any motor vehicle may be removed at the expense of the registered <br /> owner or permittee if it is parked in violation of these regulations. <br /> 6.7. In any proceeding involving the violation of these regulations, the license <br /> number attached to a motor vehicle involved in a violation shall constitute <br /> prima facie evidence of the motor vehicle's owner. It shall be assumed <br /> that the registered owner of the motor vehicle was the person who parked <br /> the motor vehicle at the point where, and during the time when, the <br /> violation occurred. <br /> 13 of 16 <br />
