As it was mentioned before it was unfortunate that in a nutshell way back in Two-Thousand and
Eight(2008), but we are bringing this thing back and hopefully the Planning Commission will
approve this. We've downscaled the size of the project as Jessica stated the project now consists
of just a Dispatch Center with associated ancillary facilities to support the Dispatch Center.
Anyway, if there's any questions we'll be able to answer that for you as Ron had mentioned. So,
thank you very much.
AU: Mr. Chair, I have a question.
REPLOGLE: Excuse me one moment. Is there someone else in this group that wishes to testify
as part of the project?
PERREIRA: Chair, this is Acting Fire Chief Robert Perreira with the Hawaii Fire Department.
REPLOGLE: Yes, Chief please continue.
PERREIRA: I would like to say a few words.
REPLOGLE: Please go ahead.
PERREIRA: Okay, good morning everyone and thank you guys all for your work that you are
doing for our County and our community. I just wanted to share my excitement for this project,
this project is many, many, many years overdue and as the Fire Department and Police
Department look to move forward in collaboration with our Public Safety Answering Points and
becoming Departments that work together and integrate our facilities. It's very exciting and it's
very much needed. Currently our Fire Dispatch Center consists of a room about the size of
twenty (20)by 20, 20 by twenty-five (25) with four (4) consoles and no room for growth. This
new Dispatch Center will add nine (9) consoles and room for growth for our department and our
community response.
So, this is a very important project it been I believe 2 administrations passed already Chief
Darryl Oliveira or retired Chief Darryl Oliveira actually started the work on this and throughout
Chief Rosario's time he continued to attempt to move this project forward. I'm thankful that our
next administration will be able to continue this great project moving forward and we look
forward to the addition of it and we look forward to being able to serve our community better.
So, thank you guys all for your support and if you guys have any questions I am also here.
Thank you.
REPLOGLE: Thank you Chief. Are there other questions from my fellow Commissioners for
the testifiers? Yes, Mr. Au?
AU: So,just a question for Mr. Terry. Ron you mentioned that you have one change or one
issue with one of the conditions. Did you share, I don't think you shared that with us.
TERRY: No, I didn't, let me pass that on to Department of Public Works because it came from
them maybe Mr. Moriuchi can make that request.
5
EXHIBIT B
