Communication Number 2022-01 <br />Remote Meetings <br />or WebEx <br />Members of the board or public can <br />participate online from their own homes, <br />offices, or other private locations and need <br />not show up at a physical location <br />But board must offer at least one public <br />physical location for people without the <br />skills, equipment, internet service, or desire <br />to participate online <br />29 <br />Act 220 of the 2021 legislative session, and effective January 1, 2022. Instead of having <br />the board and the public gather in - person at a physical location as has been the <br />traditional method of holding a meeting, the remote meeting is held online over the <br />Members of the board and the public can participate online from their homes, offices, <br />or other private locations, and they're not required to disclose the private location from <br />which they are attending a remote meeting. <br />In recognition of the possibility that not all people have the skills, equipment, desire, or <br />reliable internet connection to be able to participate online, the board must still <br />provide at least one public physical location where people can participate in the remote <br />meeting. M embers of the board are not required to show up at this physical location, <br />and they can participate online. <br />29 <br /> <br />
