The fires were in Districts 1, 6, 10, and 11. <br /> Fire Inspector II and Plans Examiner Ed Kawasaki has reported working a total of 136 <br />hours this month with 29 hours being spent on inspections, testing, meetings, etc., <br />which leaves 107 hours dedicated to plan review. He reviewed a total of 51 plans <br />divided into 107 hours which equals 2.10 hours per plan. <br /> Fire Prevention Branch personnel conducted 164 inspections to include 47 commercial <br />inspections, 21 commercial reinspections, 6 Certificate of Occupancy, 5 Educational, 0 <br />Educational Reinspections, 44 Fire Protection System Acceptance Testing, 13 Site <br />Inspections, 0 Fireworks shows, 8 Tent inspections, 1 Fireworks site storage, and 3 <br />Tank inspections. <br /> Fire Prevention Branch also investigated 9 complaints. <br /> Two (2) fire investigation records/reports were researched and sent to the requested <br />parties. <br /> The Fire Prevention Branch conducted 6 Public Education Presentations. One of the <br />major Public Education projects conducted this month included working with Hawaii <br />Wildfire Management Organization Home Assessment programs to identify fire <br />hazards at residential homes. TA Fire Inspector John Requelman attended this 3-day <br />course and was able to pass on knowledge to his fellow inspectors. <br /> The 2018 NFPA 1 Fire Code passed the first hearing with the Hawaii County Council. <br />There are two (2) more hearings scheduled on December 21, 2022, and final hearing <br />on January 5, 2023. <br /> <br />Section Report by: BC Kurashige <br /> <br />10 | Page <br /> <br /> <br />
