KANAHELE:The language of that law which was a new law in Hawai'i, which <br />law came from another culture. <br />VITOUSEK:Fair enough. And those Land Commission awards, several <br />those were built on. IsnÓt that correct? I mean, isnÓt that where some of the homes, <br />which are now in that area, are built on those awards. IsnÓt that correct? <br />KANAHELE:Right. <br />VITOUSEK:I did note and I think you testified in your direct examination that <br />one of your recommendations was that the State acquire the four private residences on the <br />makai side of Alii Drive. IsnÓt that correct? <br />KANAHELE:Yes. <br />VITOUSEK:To your knowledge, has the State done anything to acquire those <br />properties? <br />KANAHELE:(Shaking head negatively.) <br />VITOUSEK:IÓm sorry, youÓll have to answer out loud because itÓs Î. <br />KANAHELE:No, they didnÓt. <br />VITOUSEK:Okay. Thank you. And, to your knowledge, has the Stat <br />anything to acquire any of the other private residences in that area? <br />KANAHELE:No. <br />VITOUSEK:Okay. Now, Ms. Kanahele, your proposals for the develo <br />the Keolonhihi Cultural Park made several recommendations to the State as the <br />custodian of that land. To your knowledge, have any of those recommendations been <br />implemented? <br />KANAHELE:No. <br />VITOUSEK:And that was in, your study was 1992 or 93, was it? <br />KANAHELE:Yeah. <br />VITOUSEK:So in the last decade, is it your testimony that of the various <br />recommendations and proposals that youÓve made to the State they didnÓt, none of those <br />have been implemented?
