Project Year Contract Description <br /> Completed Amount <br /> Summary Letter and a Limited Asbestos and Lead <br /> Paint Survey Report summarizing field sampling. <br /> E2 will prepare construction plans, specifications, <br /> and construction cost estimates to address closure <br /> of the UST and existing fuel lines if needed. <br /> County of Hawaii - Landfills <br /> E2 provided various consulting services at two <br /> closed landfills, including performing a geophysical <br /> survey, infra-red photography, <br /> and mapping to determine landfill boundaries and <br /> Closed Kona Landfill fire characterization, and preparing a landfill fire <br /> Fire Monitoring management plan. Prepared a <br /> landfill alternatives plan to evaluate fire <br /> control/extinction, waste mining, and other <br /> alternatives. Assisted with an U.S. <br /> 2016 $389,000 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-supported <br /> fire control pilot test to evaluate the efficacy of <br /> using waste excavation and the <br /> application of foam/water as a method to <br /> extinguish fire in landfill hot spots. Tasks included <br /> Closed Waimea Landfill quarterly monitoring of landfill gas <br /> Fire Monitoring and subsurface fire conditions, preparation of <br /> quarterly and annual monitoring reports, and <br /> periodic fire management activities <br /> (e.g., carbon dioxide [CO2] injection, landfill cover <br /> maintenance, and landfill fire response, etc.). <br /> E2 provided fire monitoring and control services for <br /> the closed Kona/Waimea/Waimea Landfills. The <br /> Closed Kona Landfill services included: landfill cover maintenance; bi- <br /> Subsurface Landfill Fire annual inspections/quarterly monitoring,which <br /> Monitoring and 2015 $260,000 includes landfill gas sampling and reporting; semi- <br /> Maintenance annual vegetation control; installation of new gas <br /> sampling probes; and fire control and response <br /> activities. <br /> E2 conducted quarterly or semiannual monitoring <br /> of all functioning probes at the Waimea Landfill. <br /> Monitoring activities was conducted in general <br /> accordance with the Landfill Management Plan and <br /> at the interval specified in the previous monitoring <br /> report. Monitoring included collecting temperature <br /> Closed Waimea Landfill and gas-composition data from the gas probes, <br /> Subsurface Landfill Fire 2015 $440,000 sinkholes, cracks, and other designated areas at the <br /> Monitoring <br /> landfill, evaluation of the landfill surface and soil <br /> cover maintenance, and evaluation of storm water <br /> runoff. Conducted an Infrared Survey and the <br /> results of the survey were included in the <br /> monitoring report.
