SPECIAL MANAGEMENT AREA GUIDELINES: <br /> The proposed residential development is consistent with the County of Hawaii <br /> Special Management Area (SMA) guidelines pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes, <br /> Chapter 205A-26 as amended. <br /> 1. Chapter 205A-26, HRS, Section I states that. "All development in the special <br /> management area shall be subject to reasonable terms and conditions set <br /> by the Authority in order to ensure:" <br /> A. Adequate access, by dedication or other means, to publicly owned or <br /> used beaches, recreation areas, and natural reserves is provided to the <br /> extent consistent with sound conservation principles. <br /> Applicant's Response: <br /> The project site is separated from the shoreline by over 500 feet and two <br /> county owned roadways.The public's access to the ocean will not be <br /> impacted by the proposed project. <br /> B. Adequate and properly located public recreation areas and wildlife <br /> preserves are reserved. <br /> Applicant's Response: <br /> The property is not connected to any coastline areas that would require <br /> access over or through this property to any beaches, recreation areas or <br /> naturalreserves. <br /> C. Provisions are made for solid and liquid waste treatment, disposition, and <br /> management which will minimize adverse effects upon Special <br /> Management Area resources. <br /> 20 <br />
