She also <br /> serves as a Senior Project Manager on a wide cross section of projects for <br /> private corporations and public agencies. Ms. Herkes has over 35 years of <br /> professional experience in corporate management and fund raising, <br /> development of community relations and outreach programs, project liaison to <br /> community organizations, community leaders, neighborhood boards, business <br /> organizations, individual organizations and stakeholders. <br /> REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT EXPERIENCE <br /> SSFM International <br /> Project Manager for Primary Corridor Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) FEIS <br /> Preliminary Engineering Design, Honolulu, Hawaii. Project included the <br /> AREAS OF SPECIAL ( preliminary engineering for the In-Town route over 13 miles of road in <br /> COMPETENCE Honolulu. The total construction cost for this project is at$356 million. <br /> Project Management Community Outreach for Keaau-Pahoa Road Improvements project on the <br /> Community Relations island of Hawaii. The State Department of Transportation (DOT), has <br /> and Outreach proposed this project to address the heavy traffic congestion which <br /> currently occurs along the corridor between Keaau and Pahoa. Project <br /> Communications included preparation of an Environmental Assessment report in <br /> compliance with NEPA and Title 11, Chapter 200, HRS for the widening <br /> and improvement of the existing highway. Length of the Highway study <br /> area approximately 10.5 miles. <br /> Community Outreach for the Paia Bypass project on the island of Hawaii. <br /> The State Department of Transportation (DOT) in association with the <br /> Federal Highways Administration (FHWA), are proposing Highway <br /> Improvements and Alternate Road to serve the Paia community. <br /> Project Trainer for the Emergency Response Plan, Department of Water, <br /> County of Kauai, Hawaii. This project involved the preparation of an <br /> Emergency Response Plan pursuant to the Public Health Security and <br /> Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002. The total project <br /> cost of$142,875. <br /> Project Manager for the Sandwich Isles Communications Fiber Optic <br /> Ductline project. This project involves the design and construction of <br /> approximately 325 miles of fiber optic ductlines connecting Hawaiian <br /> Homelands throughout the State. Major responsibility for plan approval <br /> and permtting process with State, County and Federal regulatory agencies <br /> is a essential and crucial component with meeting construction schedule. <br /> The total construction cost of this project is estimated at$700 million. <br /> Project Manager for the State of Hawaii, Department of Education's <br /> Whole School Classroom Renovation for Hawaii schools, including <br /> Kea'au Middle, Waiakea High, Hilo Union, Hilo Intermediate, Haaheo <br /> Elementary, Laupahoehoe High & Elementary, Honoka`a Elementary, and <br /> Kohala Middle.
