CORRESPONDENCE <br />A.The Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce announces the Annual Athena Award <br />nominations <br />REPORTS <br />A.Education <br />1.Urgent Services Directory <br />The directory will be included in the Women’s Health Month PSA. <br />2.First Female Booklet <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii reported that she received the edited information of the <br />booklet from K. Peters. Her goal is to complete the display board by the end of <br />May. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii moved to request funding not to exceed $200 for the first <br />female display board. C. Kitaoka seconded the motion. The board will be a <br />lightweight, portable tri-fold board which can be folded for storage. The motion <br />was passed. <br />3.Essay Contest <br />C. Kitaoka reported that the expenditures for the essay contest were $2,437.95. <br />4.Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame <br />C. Ka-ipo reported that the Women’s Hall of Fame luncheon will be held at the <br />Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. She will check on the following possible dates: <br />September 11, September 18, or September 25. <br />J. Viernes suggested that CSW purchase six trophies from Trophy Case and <br />have the names engraved later. C. Ka-ipo moved to purchase six trophies from <br />Trophy Case not to exceed $200.K. Schneider seconded the motion. The <br />motion was passed. <br />C. Kitaoka asked if the cost of the entertainment can be reduced and how much <br />CSW is willing to spend this year. The Mayor’s Office Public Relations <br />Specialist, Desiree Cruz, is a possible candidate to emcee the program as well <br />as sing. C. Ka-ipo said she will ask Jade Moon first to emcee and she can follow <br />up with Melveen Leed. <br />5.Equal Pay <br />E. Cabatu reported that the ad is running and there are two rotating ads. One is <br />with her sister, Moani, and the other is her sister, Moani, and her friend. The ad <br />is being paid by the HSCSW. <br />3 <br /> <br />
