B.Health <br />1.Women’s Health Month <br />E. Cabatu reported that CSW agreed to do radio spots for Women’s Health Week <br />in May. <br />C. Ka-ipo moved that CSW sponsor radio spots not to exceed $1,700 <br />encouraging women to have their annual check ups and encouraging women’s <br />health. K. Schneider seconded the motion. C. Ka-ipo and E. Cabatu will work on <br />the script. The motion was passed. <br />C.Liaison <br />1.HSCSW <br />E. Cabatu reported that the next meeting will be held on June 10, 2010. <br />E. Cabatu reported that she received an email from the consultant, Kwai-Chang <br />Publico. He proposes “learn more on how to be a part of the W.A.V.E. – Women <br />and Voting Ewareness,” set up logo and print t-shirts to give out, create a website <br />or facebook/twitter page and first number of “friends or followers” receive free <br />shirt along with free voting registry info packet, piggy back on three events in Hilo <br />with Fearless Hawaiian Enterprises and set up voter registry at these events. <br />She suggested that Kwai-Chang Publico run the campaign out of his facebook <br />site to invite his friends and followers to participate and then they pick up the <br />t-shirt at his shop. <br />CSW suggested that E. Cabatu check with Corporation Counsel to determine if <br />there is no conflict of interest in promoting his brand. E. Cabatu contacted <br />Renee Schoen, Deputy Corporation Counsel, for a legal opinion to see if there is <br />a conflict. R. Schoen called back and informed CSW that there is no problem <br />with CSW co-sponsoring the campaign. However, E. Cabatu needs to get two <br />other verbal quotes. <br />K. Schneider moved that CSW co-sponsor the W.A.V.E. campaign with Fearless <br />Hawaiian, Kwai Chang Publico, contingent on approval from Corporation <br />Counsel. J. Balberde-Kamalii seconded the motion. The motion was passed. <br />E. Cabatu said that the HSCSW informed her to not to worry about purchasing <br />things now for later because there is a new upcoming budget. <br />K. Schneider reported that she contacted AAUW and the League of Women <br />Voters and they both do voter registration drives the month before the election. <br />They are both willing to help in any way that they can with anything the <br />committee wants to do earlier. There is no longer a need to have someone <br />trained to be at the table.One reason they were at Kmart instead of Wal Mart is <br />because certain times conflicted with other commitments Wal Mart had made. <br />Furthermore, they talked about looking at events that CSW could be part of that <br />would draw crowds of people.
