Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />E. Takazawa reported taking packs of the directory to Waimea Hospital, <br />Hamakua Medical Center, and Lucy Henriques Medical Center. Copies <br />were available at an East Hawaii Consortium. J. Viernes reported that <br />people call her for the directory. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />A. Mejia reported that she contacted Hawaii Printing and the printer will <br />give her a quote after she gets the photos together. E. Takazawa will pick <br />up Librada Luis’s photo. <br />3. Essay Contest <br />Tabled. <br />4. Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame <br />J. Mecklenburg reported that charging $50 for a $38 meal is okay since <br />the money is used for event expenses. <br />5. Equal Pay <br />E. Cabatu reported that the event is in April.Possibilities are 1) the <br />formation of a book club which raises awareness of pay inequality, using a <br />book distributed by the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women <br />(HSCSW), 2) a radio spot for a week, 3) Annelle Amaral can speak in the <br />High Schools, 4) a person can be interviewed on the radio. K. Nova said <br />that several women’s groups could be asked to contribute for a program. <br />B. Health <br />1. Women’s Health Month <br />E. Cabatu reported that the event will be held in late August in order to <br />avoid conflict with the Life Care Center’s wellness event. <br />A.
