5. Hawaii County Womens Hall of Fame <br />C. Ka-ipo reported that the three judges are K. Peters from West Hawaii, Roberta <br />Cartwright from East Hawaii, and Penny Vredenburg from Waimea. Two <br />nominations have been submitted. The Hilton Waikoloa Village has the menu <br />ready and will be waiting for a head count. A special room ratewill be available <br />by calling the hotel. Unfortunately, the press release was not published in its <br />entirety. More information of the event and photos of special guests will be <br />published in an upcoming press release. <br />The Womens Hall of Fame is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2006 at the <br />Hilton Waikoloa Village, Waters Edge Ballroom. No host cocktails will be at <br />5:30 p.m. and the program to begin at 6:00 p.m. <br />K. Peters explained that it will be very expensive to order a similar crystal vase <br />on a wood stand from a manufacturer for the awards. C. Kitaoka will check out <br />the trade show in Honolulu this weekend for six awards. <br />6. Equal Pay <br />D. Pung reported that Annelle Amaral is willing to come and speak on Equal Pay. <br />She would like to share A. Amaral with more people in September for Womens <br />Health Month. <br />K. Peters said she would like to see the issue of equal pay get into the high <br />schools to provide younger people awareness of salary and financial issues. <br />Young people are often unaware or misinformed about salary and financial <br />issues in the workforce. <br />D. Noda suggested having the meeting in a bigger area whereit could be opened <br />up for people to attend. <br />K. Peters suggested discussing this issue at a later date when other committee <br />members are present. CSW agreed. <br />B. Health <br />1. Womens Health Month <br />Tabled. <br />C. Liaison <br />1.
