Letter of support from CSW to the House of Representatives joint Committee on <br />Health and Human Services asking them to pass the Gentle Birth Resolution <br />B. Copy of Memorandum from Councilwoman Virginia Isbell to Council Chair <br />Stacy Higa regarding Bill 42, Draft 2 increasing CSWs budget by $25,000 for fiscal <br />year 2005-06 <br />D. Pung will send a thank you letter to Councilwoman V. Isbell. <br />C. Michigan Womens CommissionNewsletter <br />REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />K. Peters reported that she has completed the second half of the directory. <br />E. Takazawa will e-mail an addition into the directory to K. Peters. <br />J. Coburn circulated a booklet called A Rainbow of Resources for Big Island <br />Families Spring 2005 for CSWs review to determine whether the committee <br />wanted to combine the Urgent Services Directory or collaborate on distribution. <br />She will pursue the distribution list of the booklet if CSW decides to combine it. <br />K. Peters said that the booklet is appropriate for providers on the island and the <br />urgent services directory is more client oriented. However, it would be nice to <br />have the directory as an insert with the booklet. <br />P. Newland mentioned that the Police Department in Puna would like to have the <br />directory regularly for the police officers cars. Other interested organizations are <br />the WIC Program and the food bank. <br />The revised directory will go out to bid in July 2005. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />No report. <br />3. EssayContest <br />The winning essays published in the Hawaii Tribune Herald and the Waimea <br />GazettefeaturingJoshuaLevenson,firstplaceessaycontestwinnerforgrades <br />11-12 from Kanu o Ka Aina, were circulated to CSW members. <br />4.
