M. Masunaga reported that she has not received any information from the <br />American Bar Association about the Beijing Womens Conference. However, <br />she did make contact with them and they will forward any information to her. <br />5. Mentoring <br />M. Masunaga reported that she sent out the thank you card and photos to <br />Washington Mutual. <br />M. Masunaga reported that she gave the accreditation committee for Konawaena <br />Middle School a report about the mentoring projects that the CSW have done in <br />the past three years. They were hoping that it would continue in the future <br />depending upon availability of funding. <br />6. Hawaii County Womens Hall of Fame <br />D. Pung reported that she would prepare a time line for the event. She will <br />contact J. Moon to confirm her attendance. <br />J. Coburn noted that she has a scheduling conflict for October 22, 2005 which is <br />the scheduled date of the Womens Hall of Fame. CSW members suggested <br />that D. Pung contact J. Moon to determine whether she can come earlier for a <br />luncheon instead of dinner. <br />B. Health <br />1. Womens Health Month <br />E. Takazawa reported that she will not be pursuing a grant for Womens Health <br />Month because of the extra work involved. She spoke to J. Viernes and she <br />indicated that there is enough money ($2,000) in CSWs budget to cover the <br />omiyage, leis, and light refreshments with the balance of funds divided between <br />Hilo and Kona. <br />Dr. Shelly Ham, psychiatrist in Hilo, has agreed to do an evening talk on <br />meditation and how it affects your mental health at her home. <br />E. Takazawa suggested that CSW members e-mail their headcount on leis and <br />omiyageoncetheireventisfinalizedtoherorJ.Viernes. <br />C.Liaison <br />1. HSCSW <br />M. Masunaga reported that the announcement for the position of the Executive <br />Director for the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women (HSCSW) <br />wentout.Thesalaryrangeis$42,000to$50,000.Thedeadlinetosubmit <br />resumes is May 31st. A subcommittee consisting of Susan Pirsch from Maui, <br />SheilaLeasfromOahu,andM.MasunagaoftheHSCSWpreparedthepress <br />release and got quotes. The next HSCSW meeting is scheduled for Friday, <br />June24,2005,at10:30a.m.onOahu. <br />3 <br /> <br />
