2. Legislative Update <br />No report. <br />CSW members can ask Representative Cindy Evans for a legislative update <br />during lunch today. <br />D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />J. Coburn reported that the newsletter has been forwarded to her designers. <br />E. Community Reports <br />P. Newland reported that she attended a skateboard park meeting in Pahoa <br />yesterday. A design committee meeting will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2005 to <br />finalize details and aspects. <br />The Sirius Institute will be filming this week by French producers of Mona Lisa <br />Production. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Resignations and appointments <br />None. <br />B. Nominating Committee <br />The nominating committee consisting of J. Balberde-Kamalii, M. Masunaga, and <br />P. Newland shall nominate candidates and present a slate of officers for the next <br />meeting. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A. New Committees <br />M. Masunaga suggested forming a liaison committee with the Kona Branch of the <br />American Association of University Women (AAUW) fortheGEMS Program <br />because the GEMS Program Chair needs to report to CSW about their plans since <br />thefundsarecomingfromthecommittee.Shewillfollowupwiththechairofthe <br />GEMS Program to ensure that reporting is provided to CSW. <br />D. Noda explained that she is not familiar with the project or history of the GEMS <br />Program.Sincecountyfundsarebeingused,thenhowmuchcanCSWprovide <br />input or regulate how that money is going to be used. How much does CSW want to <br />saytoAAUWthatnon-discriminationneedstobefollowedonhowpeopleare <br />selected? <br />C. Ka-ipo questioned why East Hawaii was not included since it€s county funds. <br />M.MasunagaexplainedthatabudgetrequestcamethroughCouncilwomanV.Isbell <br />from AAUW.
