Email from Debbie Davis to Laura Guluzzy, Chair, regarding her resignation from <br />CSW <br />D. The HSCSW meeting agenda for Friday, September 17, 2004, on Oahu <br />REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />E. Takazawa reported that the directory has gone out to bid and J. Viernes is <br />now making corrections to the proof. It should be printed by the end of the <br />month. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii asked how CSW will distribute the directories. J. Viernes <br />responded that CSW members will pick up the directories from her office and the <br />public will contact her first and then pick it up. <br />C. Kitaoka stated that she will continue to talk about the directory before different <br />organizations even though Womens Health Month will be done at the end of <br />September. <br />2. Essay Contest <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii reported that a facility has not been secured for the essay <br />contest luncheon awards ceremony. The Hapuna Prince Hotel may cut the room <br />rental from $1,000 to $250. She will work on the essay contest packets next <br />week to be distributed to the schools. E. Takazawa offered to assist J. Viernes <br />with collating the packets. <br />CSW members and M. Masunaga have offered to hand deliver the packets to <br />various teachers in their district. C. Kitaoka offered to pass out ten packets to <br />specificteachers.E.Takazawaofferedtohandcarrythepacketsto <br />Kalanianaole School and Laupahoehoe High and Elementary School. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii stated that she is looking for 12 judges (6 from East Hawaii <br />and6fromWestHawaii).JudgingwilltakeplaceearlyJanuary2005. <br />P. Newland provided a brief summary of the judging process. <br />3. Equal Pay Day <br />P.Newlandreportedthatsheagreedtoworkonthisissue,butitstoopremature <br />right now. <br />E. Takazawa reported that she sent the name of the Lieutenant Governor from <br />theEastCoastwhowasdrawingcrowdsonhertalkforEqualPayDayto <br />2 <br /> <br />
