P. Newland reported that this is the time to let our legislators know ourinterests <br />for the upcoming legislature. D. Pung suggested that CSW send a letter of <br />support for the HSCSW to the legislators. J. Balberde-Kamalii suggested a <br />postcard campaign with assistance from different organizations. D. Pung felt it <br />was a good idea and offered to bring it up at the Zonta Club meeting. C. Kitaoka <br />recommended contacting the Hawaii Womens Coalition since they were <br />planning to issue a press release and sign wave on Oahu. D. Pung offered to <br />draft a form letter to the legislators and email it to CSW members for review. In <br />the meantime, CSW members should contact their legislators for support. <br />D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />P. Newland reported that she spoke to M. Lake about the newsletter several <br />times. M. Lake is aware of the newsletter and shouldbe forthcoming. <br />E. Community Reports <br />P. Newland reported that she will be unable to attend the DVIAT meeting this month <br />and possibly the next few months due to a schedule conflict. Secondly, she <br />attended a fetal alcohol syndrome training. She also attended a two-day workshop <br />on homeland security and signed up to be a trainer. Lastly, a new group called We <br />Stand for the Children has invited people from Oahu to come over and help the <br />ladies and their families learn more about the legal proceedings and continue to do <br />information pickets outside the state building. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Resignations and appointments <br />E. Takazawa reported that she e-mailed Dana Moody from Tutus House to see if <br />she would like to serve on CSW. <br />B. Nominating Committee <br />P. Newland moved to remove this item from the agenda. E. Takazawa seconded <br />the motion. The motion was passed. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A. New Committees <br />P. Newland reported that she would like to discuss domestic harmony as one of <br />CSWs platform. CSW suggested that she contact L. Guluzzy to put it on the <br />agenda for the next meeting. <br />B. Sponsorships and Co-Sponsorships <br />None. <br />C.GuestSpeakers <br />E. Takazawa reported that she would like to request that D.
