from the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice. The <br />grant will be for UHH and the Hawaii Community College (HCC) Eas <br />Hawaii campuses. A counselor advocate will be set up at HCC and <br />coordinator at the UHH Women's Center will coordinate a crisis response team <br />between the university campus, police, YWCA-SAVE, and Alternatives to <br />Violence. One of the prime objectives of the grant is to change attitudes in the <br />community teaching people to say "no" to violence that is inflicted upon them. <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />Circulated. <br />REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />M. Andrews reported that she continues to distribute the directory. <br />Approximately 27 packs of the directory are left. <br />C. Hara stated that the Kona Mayor's Office has a stock of the directories <br />available for distribution. She did a presentation to the Zonta Club and <br />gave them two packs of the directories. The head librarian for the Big <br />Island is a member of the Zonta Club and she offered to distribute them to <br />every library on the island. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />D. Davis reported that there is no Page Maker document on any diskettes <br />she received. There are several word documents in text format o <br />word document is not the same as the mock up booklet. She sugge <br />recreating the booklet either in Page Maker which she has no experience <br />using or Publisher which she has experience in using. Once the <br />document is completed in Publisher, the booklet should be print ready and <br />could be e-mailed to the printer. However, she is unable to sca <br />photographs because her scanner does not have good capability for <br />scanning. Her goal is to try and get the booklet completed by t <br />this fiscal year. The specifications should be turned in to J. <br />end of May since the deadline to submit requisitions is June 2. <br />S. Nakoa was able to obtain a quote from a printer in Kona to ge <br />of the cost. The quote for 1,000 booklets was $3,523. C. Hara suggested <br />that CSW consider getting bids for both 1,000 and 2,000 booklets <br />the difference in cost will not be that much. <br />C. Hara reminded D. Davis about ADA requirements when determining <br />the print size and font. Secondly, she suggested adding a notation on the <br />back of the booklet with the copyright date, year published, and quantity <br />printed. S. Shirachi Gonsalves offered to provide ADA information on font <br />size and language to include in the booklet. <br />2 <br /> <br />
