J. Viernes will scan the photographs and e-mail them to D. Davis when <br />done. <br />3. Essay Contest <br />C. Hara reported that she handed over the reigns to S. Tanaka. She will <br />be meeting with S. Tanaka to review the informational packet to <br />out in August. <br />4. Equal Pay Day <br />M. Andrews reported that the Equal Pay Day press conference held on <br />April 15, on Oahu was well-attended. There was a line up of gue <br />speakers. She circulated a packet of information from the conference. <br />M. Andrews also attended the HSCSW meeting which was held at <br />1:00 p.m. The topic of discussion was the demise of the HSCSW. She <br />and P. Newland were the only guests in attendance. In addition, <br />HSCSW has just created a Self-Sufficiency Standard Report for the State <br />of Hawaii. There is also a Self-Sufficiency Standard training kit. <br />5. Mentoring <br />C. Hara reported that she spoke to M. Masunaga about CSW's concerns <br />regarding the issue of ethics. CSW should not select who participates in <br />the project. If M. Masunaga's daughter participates in the project, then <br />M. Masunaga has to pay for all costs involved. Furthermore, her <br />daughter's teacher was uncomfortable with having to make the selection <br />of which ten girls would participate in the project because she wanted to <br />offer it to all the girls. Therefore, M. Masunaga decided to do the project <br />through her daughter's Girl Scout troop. The troop leader will <br />contact with the parents and M. Masunaga will provide the waiver forms to <br />the participants and explain the project to them. Contact has already been <br />made with Macy's. D. Davis added that M. Masunaga is trying to <br />"formal" lunch donated or a reduced price. <br />6. Dress for Success/Fashion Furlough <br />C. Hara read a report from B. Iramina about the Fashion Furlough <br />program. Copy of the report is attached. <br />B. HEALTH <br />1. Women's Health Month <br />C. Hara reported that it looks like the topic for this year's Women's Health <br />Month will center on the Self-Sufficiency Standard. <br />C. Hara stated that M. Masunaga has already secured guest speake <br />the month of September in Kona. Dale Suezaki from Morgan Stanley will <br />be providing an update on financial planning and Kim Jackson wil <br />talking about estate planning. M.
