(101) Adding Section 1204.3.3. Section 1204.3.3 is added to read: <br />"1204.3.3 Gas Appliance Installation Inspection <br />This inspection shall be made after all gas piping in the system as <br />authorized has been inspected and approved and the connections of <br />such gas fixtures and appliances as authorized by permit have been <br />made to the piping system. This inspection shall include a soap <br />solution test or other approved testing method of detecting any gas <br />leakage occurring in the connection or attachment and shall <br />include a determination that the installation meets the requirements <br />and intent of this code." <br />(102) Amending Section 1209.1. Section 1209.1 is amended to read: <br />"1209.1 All gas meter locations under the control of the gas <br />supplier shall be approved by the supplier. All meter locations <br />shall conform to local fire regulations." <br />(103) Amending Section 1210.0. Section 1210.0 is amended to read: <br />"1210.0 Material for Gas Piping <br />1210.1 Pipe: All pipe used for the installation, extension, <br />alteration, or repair of any gas piping shall be standard weight <br />wrought iron or steel (galvanized or black), threaded copper or <br />brass pipe. Threaded copper or brass pipe is restricted to above <br />ground only. Approved PE pipe may be used in exterior buried <br />piping systems. <br />1210.2 Tubing: Seamless copper, aluminum alloy, brass or steel <br />tubing may be used in lieu of pipe listed in Section 1210.1 for <br />above ground installations only and shall not be installed in <br />concealed spaces. Copper tubing shall be of type K or L, or <br />equivalent, having a minimum wall thickness of 0.032 inch and <br />shall be appropriately labeled as gas piping system. Aluminum <br />alloy shall not be used in exterior locations or where it is in contact <br />with masonry, plaster or building insulation or is subject to <br />corrosive wettings. Approved PE tubing may be used in exterior <br />buried piping systems. Corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) <br />shall be tested and listed as to compliance with construction, <br />installation, and performance requirements for use in interior gas <br />piping systems per ANSI /AGA LC1 -1991, Interior Fuel Gas <br />Piping Systems Using Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing. <br />1210.3 All such pipe or tubing shall be either new, or shall <br />36 <br />
